Weavr Health Adds Regulatory and Clinical R&D Expertise to Growing Leadership Team

Rebecca Legare, VP of Global Quality and Regulatory, and Jingzi Sherman, VP of R&D and Clinical, bring strong medical device experience as Weavr advances at-home blood collection and testing platform


CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Feb 15, 2022Weavr Health, a diagnostics company, has added regulatory and clinical R&D expertise to its growing leadership team, appointing Rebecca Legare as Vice President of Global Quality and Regulatory and Jingzi Sherman as Vice President of R&D and Clinical.


Since 2020, Weavr Health has nearly tripled its employee base, rebranded from Boston Microfluidics, and signed strategic partnerships, including Nightingale Health, to expand clinical studies of its novel at-home blood collection and testing platform.

Rebecca Legare joins Weavr from PerkinElmer, where she most recently served as global senior director, quality & regulatory for COVID programs. She has more than 20 years of experience in the medical device and in vitro diagnostics (IVD) industries, including senior quality roles at Insulet Corporation and Boston Scientific.


Jingzi Sherman, M.D., C.C.R.A. joins Weavr from Nova Biomedical, where she oversaw global medical and scientific affairs. She brings more than 10 years of experience in IVD assay development, validation, health authority submission and post-market medical affairs, including leadership roles at PerkinElmer and Roche Diagnostics.

Weavr Health recently announced that Nightingale Health will use Weavr’s at-home blood collection device, Velvet, as part of the preventative health services it is now rolling out to consumers globally.
